Must-Have Tops under $50

Okay ladies, these were a little harder to choose than the shoes in the last Fashion Week post because there are actually a LOT of great tops at this price point. Here I’ve rounded up the top picks from a variety of styles: comfy, classic, crop, work-appropriate etc. Every single one is under $50 so shop your heart out and get ready for London Fashion Week starting Feb. 16, 2018. Who said looking amazing needed to be expensive?

American Eagle Outfitters AE Floral Duster • $29.95

Top2 234x300 - Best Tops Under $50 | London Fashion Week

Can’t get over how cute this is. And it’s only $30! American Eagle has sometimes been hit or miss for me but this is something that caught my eye immediately. I love this top because it gives me summer vibes but can be worn any time of the year because of its dark colour.

Light fabric + dark colour + bold design = year-round statement piece.

Only Distressed Cotton Sweatshirt • $45

Top3 178x300 - Best Tops Under $50 | London Fashion Week

This sweater is PERFECT if you’re looking for an athleisure look. I’m also getting “New Taylor Swift” vibes from this. I personally think the shredded/worn out trend is super cool. Is that what it’s called? Either way, I think this trend is something that every bad-ass babe needs to take part in. Super edgy in a stylish way. Not to mention, it’s comfy as hell.

FOREVER 21 Glen Plaid Crop Top • $30.90

Top1 200x300 - Best Tops Under $50 | London Fashion Week

Omg. This top. First of all, the pattern is very on-trend right now. With a pair of high waisted jeans (similar to the one in the photo above), this top can be part of a super casual-but-put-together look or if you pair it with a high-waisted leather skirt and heels, it can also be a boss-bitch outfit. The sleeves are to die for, I honestly can’t get over that this is only $30!

American Eagle Outfitters AE Soft & Sexy Long-Sleeve Favorite T-Shirt • $19.99

Top4 234x300 - Best Tops Under $50 | London Fashion Week

This is super casual and super comfy. Soft material (as is the case with a lot of American Eagle tops) and a very flattering fit, even with big boobs. Sometimes tops like this tend to just make you look bigger than you are, but this is has a nice cut to it. This top should be a basic in every girl’s closet. Loose enough to cover up bloat at that time of the month and stylish enough to wear out.

Aerie Lace & Shine Bodysuit • $19.97

Top5 234x300 - Best Tops Under $50 | London Fashion Week

So this is technically a bodysuit but I HAD to put it on my list. The lace detail on this is gorgeous. I would pair this with a pair of boyfriend jeans and some wedge sandals for a cute summer look or with lots of dangly necklaces and a skirt for going out. the v-neck is probably what I love most though, it flatters your neck and collarbones and can minimize a larger bust.

Highline Collective Strapless Bustier Crop Top With Metal Hook And Eye Detail • $32.70

Top6 173x300 - Best Tops Under $50 | London Fashion Week

This is definitely a statement piece. I love this top because it has minimal details but you’ll still turn heads in it. This would be my top of choice for a night out with girlfriends. It can work with a variety of outfits, the black colour makes it easy to accessorize and you can dress it up or down with other items in your closet. Before seeing this top, I never would have considered a satin bustier crop top to be a versatile piece of clothing. Live and learn, I suppose!

Gaiam Raina Crisscross-Back Tunic • $43.61

Top11 245x300 - Best Tops Under $50 | London Fashion Week

Ultimate comfy lounge-day top. So soft and so cute. This is the top you want if you’re looking to show off your new fancy-backed sports bra, but don’t want to be too flashy about it. The criss-cross detail gives me barre vibes and the fit is so flattering. Wear with leggings to go out or wear with pyjama pants for your relaxing self-care nights at home.

Adolescent Clothing Feminist Crew Sweater • $33

Top10 195x300 - Best Tops Under $50 | London Fashion Week

I just love this. Affordable, good quality material and it says “feminist.” What more can you ask for in a sweater? With jeans and converse, this is the ultimate college girl must-have outfit.

BELLE + SKY Belle + Sky Long Sleeve Lace Back Surplice Top • $24.99

Top9 198x300 - Best Tops Under $50 | London Fashion Week

I can’t believe this is $25. The bell-sleeve is very in right now and I don’t think the trend is going away anytime soon. I especially love the flattering cut-out back and lace details. This is the little black dress of tops.

FOREVER 21 Off-the-Shoulder Crop Top • $24.90

Top8 200x300 - Best Tops Under $50 | London Fashion Week

This top is so cute. The mesh detail is to die for and the leather gives you a bad-ass vibe. I’m a huge fan of crop tops because I think they can flatter anyone (seriously!) and they pretty much always create an insta-worthy outfit. I personally think this top would look best with black jeans. Add a few cute necklaces and you’re good to go!

FOREVER 21 Crisscross Off-the-Shoulder Top • $19.90

Top7 200x300 - Best Tops Under $50 | London Fashion Week

Crisscross is a trend we should ALL take part in. The material of this top hugs curves but doesn’t give in so it’s a flattering fit designed to give you shape while maintaining comfort. It’s under $20 and could be a staple piece in your summer wardrobe. I know its February but it’s never too early to prep for summer. I would pair this with a long patterned maxi skirt (floral pattern would look so cute and feminine) pr with high-waisted pants (like the photo above).

Hope you enjoyed my favourite must-have tops. Fashion month delivers drool worthy street style but being a student (or anyone on a budget) doesn’t mean you can’t take part in looking fashionable. I can’t say this enough, but fashion IS affordable if you’re looking in the right places. Next week: Dresses!
